What is a Millside Hosted PBX System?

Millside Hosted PBX is a VoIP, cloud-based telephone system offering voice, video, meetings, conferencing, and full collaboration so that you can easily connect with all your employees, whether they are in the office or working from a remote location. We provide custom solutions that fit perfectly with the unique communication needs of your company.

What are the benefits of a Millside Hosted PBX system?

It’s one-stop-shop for all your communications needs. Simply connect your office, remote, and mobile workers to a single system and your team will be able to collaborate from anywhere.

What is VOIP?

VOIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol. This allows you to make and receive phone calls over your current internet connection.

Do I need to have a good internet connection in order to use Millside’s Hosted PBX service?

Yes. A good internet connection is integral for consistent service and clear voice communication.

Will my current phone service be interrupted during the set-up of Millside’s Hosted PBX?

There will be no interruption of service. We will establish Millside’s Hosted PBX service, and then forward your number to our service while the port is pending. It will be completely transparent when the port takes place.

How much time does it take to set up a Hosted PBX Service?

About 1 week. Generally, the longest part of the process is waiting for your existing phone numbers to port over from your previous carrier to Millside’s Hosted PBX.

Do I need a desk phone to use the Millside Hosted PBX System?

No, you don’t need a physical office phone. Our Hosted PBX System will work on your smart phone, desktop or laptop through our various mobile and desktop applications.

So I use my cell phone as an extension on the network?

Yes, this is called an off-network extension. The employee is included in the name directory of the auto-attendant, allowing the caller to dial their extension, which will be directed to the cell phone. The employee can also transfer calls back from their cell to the PBX. If the employee also has a desk phone, the calls can ring at both the cell and the desk.

Will my calls be secure?

Yes. Encryption methods protect your business interactions to ensure secure communication between endpoints on the network.

Can I keep my existing phone numbers?

Yes. All of your numbers will be ported over to Millside’s Hosted PBX system – no need to reprint your business cards!

How will I get my new phones to work?

Your new phones will be preconfigured and ready to go. All you do is simply plug them in. One cord will go into the electrical outlet and the other cord into the data outlet. Once you’ve done this, you will see your phone power on. Simply wait for your phone to sync with our system and you will then be able to make and receive phones calls.

Can I use Millside Hosted PBX if I have offices in other cities?

Yes! “Going hosted” is the perfect solution for multiple offices and locations. Any location with a solid internet connection can be part of your network with employees sharing features as if they were in the same office. Additionally, employees can be dialed direct between different locations just by using extension dialling.

Is the Voicemail to Email feature available?

Yes, voicemail messages can be delivered as .WAV audio files to your email. By opening the file, you can listen to the message through your computer speakers.

Can I record my own music-on-hold or auto-attendant greetings?

Yes. Customers may upload a recorded greeting or music on hold, or call into the voice portal to record new auto-attendant greetings as needed. Previously used audio files from your old PBX can be transferred, or Millside will record your custom auto-attendant greeting during the installation.
